About Me:
Phil is a composer and software engineer living in New York City.
By day, Phil is a mild-mannered programmer working for the Anthology of Recorded Music, a non-profit organization including New World Records an independent record label for new music composers, and DRAM Online, a streaming audio service available to schools and universities.
Phil has written various pieces of Open Source software available on his Freshmeat and Launchpad profiles, including txSpace, a web-based toolkit for building interactive games, and modu, a web framework, both written in Python.
Phil holds a Master's degree in Studio Composition from SUNY Purchase, where he studied with the new music composer Joel Thome. During the summer of 2008, Phil attended Medeski Martin and Wood's Camp MMW where he studied with members of MMW, and other instructors including Steve Bernstein and Marc Ribot.
Currently Phil plays as part of the Brooklyn jam rock duo, seaflux, and occasionally appears as a guest of other bands. Also available for custom composition work, Phil has created a number of works for hire, including and electronic score to the off-off-Broadway musical Inside Out, the little-known "theme song" for the Twisted 8.0 release, and several web shows and kids TV theme songs.
